Car Insurance Scion (Car Insurance). How much should i offer on this Kia sportage?

How much should i offer on this Kia sportage? 2006 Kia Sportage, excellent condition. 69,000 miles, sunroof, leather seats (heated), 6 disk CD player, privacy glass, power windows, power locks, remote keyless entry. From a dealership it is listed at $14,995. What is a good number to start offering at and when should I walk away?

I would say start at $12,500 and then go up to a maximum of about $14,000. Why is there no oil on the dipstick? I have my oil every 3000miles, When I check the level with dipstick around 2000miles, There will be no oil on the dipstick! I sometimes add a quart for that extra 1000miles til I go back to the dealer, sometimes, I leave it as is. When they service my car and drag this "thing"(sorry for all the technical terminology) under my car and remove some screws then a nice long flow of oil comes out? I'm confused if there is no oil on the dipsstick, where is all this oil coming from when they remove the screws. Is this normal or does it mean I have an oil leak. When I park my car, the only liqid i see is from the AC's water. car insurance.

How do you get an auto loan through your bank instead of the dealer? How does it work? Is it a better choice? What is all this about manufacturer rebates and dealer financing? that's only for a new car, right? I read somewhere that you can get as little as 0% per year...like, as in, you don't have to pay interest on the loan at all? (assuming you have good credit, I would guess)...If I can get a deal like that, is it better than going through my bank? what is usually the better choice? And, what is the process? I have to call the bank to prequalify, then go to the dealership and find a car, then go back to the bank? or, if I'm doing dealer financing, I just go into a new car dealership and do everything right there? car insurance.

Scion . What is the Function of an Intake Manifold?

An intake manifold is part of a car's air intake system, which includes the airbox, air filter and mass air flow sensor. The intake manifold plays a key role in managing the air necessary for the engine cylinders to operate.
Function
The intake manifold evenly distributes air flow into direct-injection engines. In an engine without direct-injections, the intake manifold allocates the air/fuel mixture throughout the combustion chambers in the engine. The shape and internal diameter of the intake manifold determines the rate and direction of the air or air/fuel mixture.
Process
As air is first pushed through the air filter, it is measured by the mass air flow sensor. The throttle body receives the air and creates a vacuum as the cylinders pull back into the engine block. The intake manifold holds the vacuum as the throttle body opens, which causes the air to be sucked into the intake manifold and sent to the cylinders in the engine.
Mount
The intake manifold also serves as a mount, or point for attaching equipment in a car. This equipment typically includes the throttle body, carburetor and other engine components.

Scion . How to Turn up a Turbo

Horsepower is a function of gross airflow and turbocharger pump air into the engine. This means that increasing horsepower is simply a matter of increasing the amount of air the turbo pumps into the engine, which is governed by a sensor that measures air pressure. Restricting the amount of air that makes it to this sensor will "trick" the turbo into producing somewhat more boost than was intended.
Difficulty:Moderately Challenging
Instructions Things You'll Need
A manual boost controller kit
Wire cutters
Two hose clamps

Step by Step :
1
Purchase a twist-type manual boost controller. These in-line check valves have a spring mechanism inside which, when you twist the MBC (manual boost controller) body together, receives more pre-load to keep the valve shut longer.
2
Locate the waste gate diaphragm on the base of the turbocharger. It will look like a small flying saucer with an armature coming out of one end and a rubber vacuum line (boost sensor line) coming out of the top. Follow it back to the intake manifold or pressure tube.
3
Cut a 2-inch section from the boost sensor line. Where you make the cut isn't important; just cut where you'll have easy access for later adjustment.
4
Screw the body of your MBC counter-clockwise until the ends are hanging together by just two threads. This will release the pre-load on your spring to prevent an overboost the first time you fire the engine.
5
Slip a hose clamp over the turbo side of your sensor line and plug the MBC into the line. Some MBCs will have an arrow on the exterior to indicate the turbo side; on others you'll find "boost" or "turbo" printed.
6
Slip another hose clamp over the intake side of the line, and plug the line into the MBC. Tighten the hose on the turbo side hose clamp completely, but do not completely tighten the intake side.
7
Start the car and slowly raise the rpm while closely monitoring the boost gauge. At this point, it should read no higher than it did stock.
8
Hold the rpm at about 4,000 rpm while an assistant slowly screws the body of the MBC together. Keep a close eye on your boost gauge.
9
Once you have the boost set at your desired level, have your assistant tighten down the intake-side hose clamp and MBC lock nut, if so equipped.
Tips & Warnings
Most factory turbocharged cars can tolerate about three to five psi more boost without overspeeding the turbo or causing detonation in the engine.

One psi of boost is usually good for about an eight percent increase in power on most turbocharged engines. For an engine that had moderate 225 horsepower from the factory, a 3 psi bump would be worth about 54 horsepower for a total of 279. All of this for an upgrade that costs little more than a nice air freshener.

The only way you can mess up this installation is to put the MBC in backward, which will result in an overboost and a subsequently fried engine. Don't do it.

the tool. Always use a screwdriver with a tip that's the same width and type as the head of the screw you're working on. Because you usually can't use a standard screwdriver on a Phillips screw or vice versa (except for some Phillips/slot head screws that can be tightened or loosened by a standard blade type or Phillips head screwdriver), and because your car is fitted with both types of screws in a variety of sizes, you need several of each type (not just for your vehicle, but for almost anything around the house). Shafts vary in length too, which is useful because a longer shaft provides greater access to "buried" screws, while a shorter shaft gets into tight places more easily. Handles also vary. It's important to have large, easy-to-grip handles to help you loosen tight screws. You can get all the screwdrivers you need for relatively little money. Look for sales on plastic- or rubber-handled screwdrivers in sets of varying sizes. .Chapter 2: The Way to Your Car's Heart Is through Your Toolbox Figure 2-1: Standard screws and screwdrivers. 151 Car Insurance 2007 chevrolet silverado classic 1500 regular cab worktruckpickup2d8ft 348424

screw into the screwholder and use the screwholder instead of a screwdriver to tighten the screw. One type of screwholder has a magnet to hold the screw; another (see Figure 2-3) has a little gizmo that grabs the screw when you twist the screwholder. Both are lovely. Figure 2-3: A screwholder can help you get screws into hard-toreach places. Wrenches Wrenches are probably the most basic tools for auto repair. You need a couple of different kinds in different sizes. There are several basic types of wrenches, some for very specialized purposes, but the following sections cover the kinds you need for most jobs. Look for sets made by well-known toolmakers, and try to buy them on sale. (For more pointers on buying tools, see the beginning of this chapter.) The turning of the screw

If you find yourself confronted with a screw you anywhere, you can try squirting the trouthat's difficult to start unscrewing, try giving the blemaker with penetrating oil. (Don't use screw a slight twist in the opposite direction penetrating oil on a running engine or on any (clockwise), as though you were trying to really hot areas, because it could ignite.) tighten it. Then loosen it (counterclockwise). If Remember to keep your temper with difficult this trick doesn't work, tap the screwdriver on screws; otherwise, you risk stripping the the head with a hammer, which may loosen the threads and turning a fairly simple job of replacscrew a bit. If strong-arm tactics aren't getting ing what you've loosened into a hair-puller. .Chapter 2: The Way to Your Car's Heart Is through Your Toolbox Most wrenches are available in both standard — also known as SAE (Society of Automotive Engineers) — and metric measurements. You must know which system of measurement your engine is based on. Originally, most for eign vehicles (except British ones, which had their own thread standard) were based on the metric system, while domestic engines used SAE stan dards based on fractions of an inch. Today, most American vehicles have a mix of SAE and metric nuts and bolts. Foreign cars or foreign components

Combination Frenches When shopping for wrenches, you'll come across open-end wrenches and box-end wrenches, but the very best kind to get are combination wrenches, which have an open end and a closed end on each wrench (see Figure 2-4). These wrenches come in sets of several sizes, and each wrench is made to fit a nut of a specific size, whichever end you use. See the sidebar "How to use
